Received mine today.

Sent an email requesting the code, received a reply 13 mins later.

Scanned and received 24 faults.

Cleared and test drove and re scanned.

No faults, so all is good Thumbs Up

And I'm working on the website right now - in the future you'll be able to punch the code into a window on the site and you'll get the unlock code back 12:59.9 mins faster than you just did Paul. Laughing

Nice to hear that everyone is happy.

Received safely (very quick), got unlock code and user manual by email (quick enough), all working.

Only thing it can't do is FIX the underlying and recurring fault in my Park Heater, but at least I now know that I do have one...! Graham

Got mine this morning, but as I'm heading to Aberdeen today and leaving the car in my wifes (capable) hands, I'm going to leave getting it registered and having a play until I get back Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Got the IIDTool activation mail in less than an hour! Thumbs Up

Plugged it in and had 50 errors, mostly related to TPMS and light errors, but nothing that looked too scary.

I guess that a lot of these could be historic and weren't cleared when the last scan happened, so I've cleared them all and will check again in a few days for anything new.

Very easy to use, and very small! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Have discovered a bit of an issue....

I have a park heater problem (Still there). The IIDTool told me I'd got a fault on that ECU:

"41 - Park Heater Message Disturbance Fault", it tells me, but nobody knows what this means.

It's now been into the dealer. They tell me the fault they read for the Park Heater was "Low Battery Voltage", quite common apparently, so the heater shuts down to stop the battery being so low that the car won't start. Can't both be right.

and

I also have a problem with my alarm going off randomly. The IIDTool has told me nothing on this, but the dealer tells me that their fault code reader says "Tilt Sensor fault" and have ordered a new part accordingly.

Does this tool work properly? Graham

Hi Graham

I am sorry that the IIDTool has not assisted you enough on this case.

I have a park heater problem (Still there). The IIDTool told me I'd got a fault on that ECU:

"41 - Park Heater Message Disturbance Fault", it tells me, but nobody knows what this means.

Your fault came from the HVAC module if I’m not mistaken? This fault was logged by the HVAC and it indicates a problem with the fuel burning heater (FBH) but it did not tell much about the problem. The fault that the dealer found comes directly from the FBH ecu and you did not found it with the IIDTool because it does not support the FBH yet. Yes the IIDTool currently support most of the ecu but not ALL, there is still a few missing. We will add it as soon as it is developed. The FBH is another module like diesel engine that we do not have here in North America.

I also have a problem with my alarm going off randomly. The IIDTool has told me nothing on this, but the dealer tells me that their fault code reader says "Tilt Sensor fault" and have ordered a new part accordingly.

The IIDTool should have picked it up this one. It is a fault in the Body Processor and this ecu is supported. We will investigate that one and report back.

Rest assures that we will be adding the missing ECU’s read and clear fault in future updates as well as more features. If anyone has questions about a particular fault or problem, please contact us and we will be happy to give the information we have about it.

Right, thanks for the detailed response. This is however pretty disappointing as I bought this to try and avoid spending ££££ at the dealer solving my problems by largely self-diagnosing, and so far I'm CAN$ 395 down, no benefit from that whatever and several hundred squids at the dealer. Hey ho. You live and learn.

I thought it read ALL of the ECUs. The manual says:

"We have also included the ability to read fault codes of all other modules connected on the CAN, MOST and DS2 networks."

As this is materially and obviously untrue, I'd either like all my money back, OR preferably an update that delivers what the manual says. Not happy.

Can you please provide a detailed spec of exactly what it does support and what's yet to be added, for the UK market vehicles into which you are marketing it? Graham

Hi Graham,
I am sorry things haven't worked out well for you. No, we're not perfect. All of us still have day jobs to support the families while we work on getting this venture off the ground. We hope to have this changed soon so that all of us are on this 24/7 rather than the 12/7 we've been doing (no we don't sleep much :-p ).

The manual you have is a very preliminary version. Unfortunately there were way too many thing to take care of while we were trying to get the units ready for production to spend days writing the perfect manual for them (you are, after all, a participant in the beta testing program). We have spent the better part of the last 2 weeks revising the manual. The first real version should be out at the beginning of the coming week. As the lawyer in the bunch, I should accept responsibility for the misleading statement. Sorry. If you'd like, you can have a full refund.

The same goes for the firmware on your unit - it is still beta. A firmware update will be out in the coming weeks though it will not have the FBH issues completely taken care of yet. That likely won't be till the next update sometime the first quarter of 2012.

If you'd like your money back, please send us the IIDTool and we'll paypal the money back to the same acct you sent it from.

Steve,

Thanks.

I want a tool that works, so if you're telling me that by Q1 next year it'll be done (after a couple of firmware updates) I'm happy to wait a month or two. Or three. If you can guarantee the delivery date and functionality I'll probably stick with it.

I really wish that I'd known the weaknesses of the beta product in advance; it may have meant I joined at a different time, but the simplicity of the tool and its interface appeals. Expectations not met, in my case, for sure, but the promise is still there. Beta programmes are fine by me, I've been in the IT industry for 35 years so I've seen enough stuff that's not quite ready for prime time. Graham
