Haven't got loads of time for a big reply as on my way to the hospital but I have a 4.4 (04) and I have the relay noise. Mine is a traditional relay click though not a buzz. I'm not worried about mine. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Probably a little unlucky, though not abnormal! Not sure about your problems, but I will say this. I was getting reduced engine performance fault codes coming up on my car, which is a 2005 Supercharged (06 MY). It was on the original Land Rover battery, though the indicator cell was black. It tested as being 'ok'. However I got it changed, and have had no faults come up since (at least not relating to the engine). If yours is the original battery, then changing it would seem to be a good place to start. Probably go for a Bosch with a 5 year warranty though, they are better than the Land Rover battery, and slightly cheaper. As you say, lovely car to drive, each one comes with a few teething problems to iron out, then the occasional gremlin to test ones commitment! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining! |

Will - it's definitely not that, it's a much heavier buzz, like a relay chattering in and out without latching and only for 0.5sec or so at a time. Fairly regular, I haven't taken a stopwatch to it but I'd say it was exactly the same time between each "buzz". |

Is it worth listening around the dash to try and hunt it down or if heavy enough touch locating it as its clicking? |

I'll check the cam. It is very much in that area - could even be under the little quarter panel by the passenger's left foot, but I guess without starting to remove trim, I won't know for sure. |

Well, an update to this. The buzz is definitely related to the heating system, and in some way related to my lack of fan problem.

Hmm, I changed that for a brand new one from a main dealer - of course there's always the possibility it was faulty from new, I guess. |

Did you make sure you connected the plug on the new one properly, they can be a bit awkward |

I'm 6'4" with hands like plates - but I pushed it in as far as it would go and until it clicked, so I'd hope so; or is there something else I should be checking?? |

I've heard of new FSR being faulty out the box. Might be worth a try. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Did you get a final diagnosis on this as I have a client car that is buzzing for 20 seconds from the centre vents area after unlock and before the key goes in the ignition. Ideas appreciated? |
