The proper way to fit them is to drill through the wing

I had the LR mudflaps on my Freelander 1, I did some quite hefty offroading in that wee car and was always amazed that in 3 years I never lost one of those hard palstic mudflaps, it took about 3 outings in my Defender to loose the nice flexy rubber ones from that though! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

@Tim - I originally took that as a compliment about my shiny black paint, but having seen the following photo on another thread, I would like to state that the car is definitely black ![]()

Scarey Looking for advice on how to fit the front flaps I got an aftermarket kit delivered today . Have managed to find video on how to fit rears so thats fine but apart from drilling as above how did you fit yours as i cannot see likely mounting points on inner wing as you suggest? it was a while back now, but as far as i can remember i just put the mudflap up against the arch and located the holes and screwed in ...i've taken mine off now and they've left no holes like justins probably cos mine are aftermarket ones ..i think there were 2 screws along the inner edge and 1 underneath...they were really dead easy to fit ... ... - .- -.

They were doing a wee bit of paint work at the time, so I believe they stuck some chewing gum in the holes and squirted over them! ![]() In all seriousness, Yes, removing running boards and flaps will probably require paintwork a lot of the time. I also removed the (to my eyes) horrible covers over the lights, and this left some holes too! Sort of job that if you're getting some paintwork done anyway isn't too bad, but otherwise would be a right pain! ![]() |
