Unless you want that engine why not just get a disco of the same age as thats all your buying and its more practical as well??

RRS handles much better than a disco, but is less practical in terms of boot space and cubby holes. Even without dynamic response (which you would get anyway if you bought a supercharged one) the ARB's are much thicker and stronger to control body roll when pushing on. Main problem is that the interior feels dated and (whisper) a little cheap on the older models. The latest version is very nice inside, but still no FFRR.

....... My TDV8 RRS felt like a Discovery in drag - wait until you put your hands around that steering wheel that is shared with the Discovery and which Ford robbed from the parts bin (Volvo, I was told) it isn't a great special experience, as they go!

I wouldn't buy another one if staying with LR.

...........Just my $0.02 worth.

Instead of an RRS 4.2 why not a Range Rover 4.2? 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

kingpleb - no disrespect for the disco as it is very nice its not for me.

Tim - i feel like a change, the new Vogue are out of my price range to purchase whilst the sports are still on a moderate price level.

my Vogue is currently doing 16.5mpg whilst a rrsport 4.2 is roughly the same but with more power and a better noise!!!

TBh having driven a disco and a RRS, the only thing the RRS had that made it feel a bit more special was wider tyres and different seats slightly and the ride was a bit harder Sad

Just my own thoughts but i dont think they command the extra cash they are always on for compared to a FFRR or D4/3 of the same ages as the interior is mostly the same as the disco's Smile

They are just as capable, maye a smidge more with wider tyres, off road compared to a d4 and not much more on the road unless you really push into corners a lot of the time Smile

what engine is in your vogue for it to have less power and the same mpg as the 4.2 is the same engine in the RRS and the FFRR is it not?

If your getting 16.5mpg from the TD6, don't expect much more than 6 or 7MPG from a 4.2 S/C with the same heavy foot!!!!
