Windscreen Buzz

Ok I've given it a search and this noise seems to stem from the lower windscreen shroud, but mine is coming from the top of the screen right behind the rear view mirror since i gave the car and good cleaning yesterday Sad

Im guessing its the trim at the tops of the screen, ive checked and its taut and in place other than at the ends where it is a little floppy for about 1-2cm but the rest is good Sad

My buzzing starts at about 48-55mph and only gets worse as speed increases but when i've looked i cant find anything loose and the only other thing i can think of is a windscreen wiper component vibrating and the noise travelling up the screen due to the wind at those speeds Sad

My windscreen hasnt been replaced recently and hasnt in the previous owners ownership from what i can tell as there isn't anything in the dosc to show it.

any help mucho appreciated as i may have to try some duct tape over the mid section where i think it comes from and see if it helps.

Check the a-pillar covers (the entire visible a-pillar is just a plastic cover). Most windshield shops stick these down when they cause probs, but the probs are usually just the clips.

It'll be at the bottom of the screen, my first FFRR had this problem and it was a dead simple fix, and it's a common problem, I found it with 5 minutes searching on the web. Thumbs Up

Here ya go, see post by RRVSE! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Checked bottom scuttle and one or two of the fixing type screws seem loose but everything else around the screen seems tight Sad

Selotape will be tried next week on a part by part basis to see what it is i guess Sad

Thanks for your help though guys Smile

This happned on mine. Did you check the rubber trim at the bottom of screen mine was not sealed hence the noise I used some black sealant to seal that I got in Halfrauds. Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I had this earlier in the year really bad and annoying

try black tape all along scuttle seal to windscreen, if that works, theres your issue...you could use some black silicone to seal it up but thats a bit of a bodge if you are not neat n tidy

I think the plastic can warp slightly in the sun over the years and it only takes a tiny gap for it to become a reed valve against the screen and make the bee buzz at 50mph or faster

I got fed up, priced up a new scuttle panel (£40ish) and its like new and perfect again now Smile cheers
