United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Oslo Blue

Right if I was to leave the FFRR Phaternity it would be back to something quick. I've had a series of quick cars and miss them but my lifestyle (baby and dog) means 2 seaters plus the other baby gear dog don't mix. Hence mr owning the best 4x4 by far! My shopping list would consist of M5 touring, E63 AMG estate, RS4 Avant or if budget allowed RS6! if I had to put my sensible head on I would look at 535d touring. But if I was to change the FFRR i think at the end of the day I would but another FFRR! it ticks all the box's! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

I'd have a Skoda Yeti. Mr. Green Start the abuse now. Wink

Got one for my wife a year ago. Was interested in upgrading to the panoramic sunroof and we have been given a guarenteed trade in price for 1st March for 13k. We only paid a little over 16k, so it's lost just over 3k from new in a year and a half. With two year service intervals we've never even had to pay for one!

That kind of financial sense on top of the fact it's a great little car just makes everything else look either unpractical or needlessly expensive.

Of course it's no Range Rover. But the blend of abilities is impressive. I can see why it's won so many awards.

Where else can you get a good car from new that costs about 40 per week in depreciation? Shocked

I've had quick car before, and the bills to go with it, and the outright scarey acceleration even when full with bikes on the back but am glad i've moved onward and upward to an FFRR Smile comfort, decent enough speed from the TD6, and a little bit better economy.

I wanted a fast car so had an R5 turbo, R19 16v Chamade, coupe 20vt (nicely upgraded)
I then went economical and went through a few xantia TD's on veggie oil,
Then i wanted to finally have my activa, so learned what its like to go round a corner faster than 99.999% of anything else on the road and that was fun.

Now i just want comfort, ability to plug mud and hills and water when needed and lug large wieghts in nice refinement, i thought about a D3 HSE after my D4 HSE rental but compared to the TD6, they still seemed to big a reliability risk and am keeping my fingers crossed this TD6 with good upkeep proves me right, although i have found rust on her rear arch that needs treating Sad

I found mine and my mrs left leg always rubbing banging on the centre console bit and as it was hard i couldn't imagine tolerating it for long. can imagine they are nippy but the mrs really loves her SSS its super nippy and revs like a good un, shows a cooper S some heels when driven right and the traction control light is great fun in the tight corners when you get it to dog leg Very Happy

One of these would be a pretty good alternative.............. either a petrol or a diesel and if you have to carry rear seat passengers then the 5 door is the one to have!

One thing for sure I haven't yet seen another one on the roads yet!
And if the Evoque doesn't do it for you then the Freelander2 HSE is a pretty good car too

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green  2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
