I thought about buying a caravan but ended up buying this on a whim about 5 months back , an Autotrail Arapaho Twin rear axle , it's been used about 3 times since , even drove to Durham in it to get a towbar fitted as no-one in Scotland fits them to motorhomes , Also bought a small car to tow behind and have so far not used it ........

After being stuck in traffic/tailback for 45mins last Thursday afternoon on the M6 - we came upon the scene of an RTA involving a heavy articulated tanker lorry and a Range Rover which had been towing a caravan.

UPDATE Got one! 2008 model (pic above is a 2010 model but no real difference). Bought from a dealer at the right price, with 12 month warranty. Its immaculate and looks great behind the FFRR. I've took some pics on my iphone, but I'll have to move them to a PC to upload. Picking it up Tuesday! (I'm officially old) 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded Last edited by Andy on 10th Sep 2011 8:58am. Edited 1 time in total |

I'd love a motorhome, but it's the restrictions that put me off. It would mean towing a smaller car, like you do and I don't fancy that, which would mean driving the motorhome around at the destination. That would mean I'd have to keep unhooking the power, raising the legs etc. At least with this, I can still waft around in the FFRR when we get to wherever we go.
