my rear view camera stopped working again Evil or Very Mad

If I go into reverse i see that:

and then it becames black

If the power for the camera (when in reverse) comes from the reversing light will the camera fail if the reversing light bulb is blown?

Also does the interior trim at the top of the rear tailgate (behind Rear view Camera) just pull off - if you pull hard enough or is there another method?

The dealership wanted £500 off me to fix mine as i had the same problem , was told i needed a new camera Shocked

And MercuryF1 fitted an non LR camera into the same place as Factory and it worked plug & play:

Fitting took an hour the old faulty camera had to be removed from the original plastic casing to be replaced by the new unit. Plug and play! now I can SEE where I am reversing into now!

I opted for the expensive model as it captures a super-Wide image as well as has infra-red capability. Made in Korea, comes with a 2 year warranty! I will post some pics when I have more time.

Yes the first link was just a Sporty/D3 looking back but I think the second link I posted may fit.

Worth noting that second hand cameras are available at reasonable prices.
