If you have the 4.4 BMW V8 then I get the same issue very occasionally, interesting I get it whether running on LPG or Petrol...

At low speed manoeuvring does the ECU compensate for low revs when it needs increased power for the PAS? Discovery 4 HSE

Increased power should match increased load - so you should never notice the revs go up, but likewise you shouldnt notice them go down either. Unless something's going wrong with this calculation and that's why it goes screwy sometimes... |

Any sort of shudder often points to coil pack related problems. Check the rocker covers for oil leaks as the oil pools around the coil packs/plugs. Have you changed the PCV hoses yet? If not they will also be leaking oil all over the place by now.

how about cleaning out the idle speed control valve they get very gummed up ive cleaned loads on other makes of cars onto no6 Range Rover

Nigel, It may be worth seeing if any fault codes have been flagged up. James French could check this for you, maybe one of the temp. senders is faulty.
