2007 Iphone integration

I have used the search facility and TBH still no further forward. I have a 2007 VSE 4.2.

I would like to be able to fully integrate my iphone into the LR system, are there any people out there doing this modification? from what i read the LR one for my age of car is not a fully integrated system.......

i am happy to travel to have this done,

thanks in advance Rory

You can get an updated bluetooth module from forum member Wiggs, it's £60 on an exchange basis. Note however that the module has a limit of 300 contacts. Is the integration you want for phone only or is it more Ipod functionality you want?

If it's the latter you just need a single jack lead to the aux input on the rear of the centre console, it doesn't give you ability to select tracks from the touchscreen, but you'll have ipod audio through the car speakers.

Hope this helps. Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

I use the AUX connection to play my iPhone through the sound system, and like you I'm not a fan of cables all over the place, but I'm reluctant to fork out the £400 or so it costs for the LR Ipod retrofit kit, so AUX cable it is until it really bursts my head enough to go for it! Wink

I got an exchange BT module from Wiggs, which did the trick. Once you make contact with him, he'll ship you the module within a couple of days (assuming he has stock), and it's an easy swap job.

Oh and who has more than 300 contacts in their phone? Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

the LR kit you talk about, is the one which only has 5 play lists and has a switch to change from cd changer to ipod? or is the £400 kit the all singing all dancing BT integration i am looking for? cheers Rory

2 separate things.
The LR Ipod adaptor lets you use the touchscreen and steering wheel buttons to control music on your device. It has no BT functionality, so the updated BT module allows the iPhone to connect and transfer contacts to the car and make phone calls. It doesn't play music. Might be best to imagine your iPhone as 2 discreet devices, an iPod which plays music (through the AUX input or LR adaptor) and a phone which uses the BT module.

cheers

I believe I read on here that the iPod kit interferes with the bluetooth kit, so it may be worth some further investigation before you spend all that money.

Found it,

Although other threads suggest LCM and Bluetooth work in harmony.

The only dealer you can get an iPhone cradle from is BMW - and that only for the earlier console and with modifications.

The cradle also has nothing to do with the electronics to play music over the entertainment sys - it's just a nifty place to store (and with the right mods charge) your iPhone. You need the official LR AudioConnectivityModule to play music. And the BT module to make calls.

Ah ok thank you, mine is an 06 but 07 MY. If I buy the audio connectivity module will I need to upgrade my existing Bluetooth also? 06 4.2 SC Bonatti Grey/ Ivory
