1. I prefer the older seats. But that means you can't have the TDV8 or terrain response. Which means you need a petrol. Had a Td6 for two years. It was good, but not quiet or smooth enough for e FFRR really IMO. 2. I averaged 26mpg in my TDV8, but that was motorways 80% of the time. 23mpg is probably more likely if you are town a fair bit, or less if you drive it like it's a supercharged. 3. Yes, correct. 4. Yes. 5. Not 100% sure if the SC has a stiffer set-up. They do have the same brakes though. 6. Generally yes, but it's more luck of the draw. You need to find a good one and hold onto it. 7. 50k on a TDV8 is not a lot in my opinion. 8. I'd buy the TDV8 because a newer SC will lose money like $%£&. Plus it's cheaper to run and you don't have to stop for fuel every 5 minutes. 9. Pass. 10. Service history is everything. Plus before you buy get the dealer to check the LR system and see how much waranry work it's had. |

Do you say this Fox because if it's not had any work, then it's likely to be good; or if it's had lots done would now be sorted or you shouldn't touch because other things are likely to go wrong ? |

It's just to know that it didn't have four waranty claims in the last two months and is now for sale. A few things wouldn't worry me. It's a Range Rover, things do sometime need adjusting from new. But if it has a fault that can't be sorted it may be sold on... So I'd look for patterns. |

Thanks for the replies. The TDV8 is making sense to me at the moment but as expected the best deals are on S/C models. |

Does the facelift RR have any goodies like MP3 / Ipod connectivity, better Bluetooth (my RRS wouldn't connect despite new modules etc) or is it pretty much the same as the 2005 / 2006 RR?.

One TDV8 i have looked at and received a good offer on turns out to have been fully serviced from new by the owners own specialist garage rather than Land Rover. There are lots of bills with the car to prove the work and in some cases this is better than some young kid doing what he is told to do by a manual at the main dealers but i cant help think that as a result the warranty will have been void thus any problems may still be present.

If you tell us where it is, may be a local forum member could go and cast an eye over for you? |

Is there not a used car warranty with the car if not I would insist on this as part of the deal. I wouldnt be concened if the car was looked after by Landrover or not as long as it has the receipts and history that would satisfy mre. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE Gone Audi A5 2.7TDI Gone Discovery 3 HSE Gone Mercedes CLK Gone Range Rover 2.5 DSE |

Yes it will come with a warranty but from the supplying dealer which is 6 hours away from me so repairs will be a problem.
