They are pretty much bullet proof, as long as they have been serviced regularly. As tboner said, the rear oil seal can be an issue, the seal itself is not expensive but the job to do it is! Many have been fixed or uprated now by companys such as Autobahn.

No if it has deff had its seals done under warranty and reguar oil changes and belts the rest is solid Far to many gone... |

Even if the RMS (Rear Main Seal) has been replaced, it's still no guarantee that it wont happen again, since it's a design problem that never seemed to be resolved.
