LR Select Warranty on a 5 year old FFRR Supercharged

Hi All,

As I approach the first anniversary with my 2006 FFRR Supercharged its time to start thinking about extending the warranty. I bought my FFRR from a main dealer so it came with a 12 month LR Approved Used Warranty and over the last10 months its paid out on the following items.

Oil leak from the transfer box – required new oil seal & oil.
Squeaking main driver belt – required a new pulley and belt.
Stalling on cold startup – LR Technical provided new software for the power control ECU.
Airbag warning light – countless trips to to the dealer which required LR Engineering to provide a fix.
Replacement rear door speaker.

So all in all I have made good used the warranty Smile

Now my FFRR is over 5 years old, its only eligible for the LR 'Select Extended Warranty' and I've received a quote from LR for £785 for the year (which excludes LR Assistance)

The LR extended warranty looks fairly extensive to me, but do any of you chaps have any experience making a claim against it?

Please also let me know you opinion on whether its a good idea to get a warranty for a 5 year old FFRR SC?

Cheers,

Justin

To be honest most items on select warranty are not covered they usually say it's wear and tear as opposed to sudden mechanical failure having said that its probably one of the better ones at that age of vehicle and most garages are happy to claim from them as opposed to some Internet company that no one has heard of 2011 4.4tdv8 vogue black with black

Is it a Land Rover backed waranty or a waranty sold by the dealer and backed by someone else? (like carplan)
With extended waranties it's quite often the latter... which means they are as slippery as private waranty companies.

It's the official LR warranty sent out by LR and not by the dealer.

Me too, I've actually just renewed with LR Approved 'Select' warranty including LR assist.

Last year:

New Transponder ring for immobiliser, SC coolant pipe, Rear Brake Caliper inc pads, Leaky diff oil seal (which ended up being a whole new diff as they broke the bleed screw) new drive shafts to both rear wheels due to an unidentified noise picked up after the new diff,

Think I probably have a picture of my car up in the LR warranty place with a black mark- the $6M Range Rover.
