I have decided to copy some albums to mp3 discs for a long journey (the wife and i have completely different tastes!). Being non 'mp3' technical what would the file structure look like on the disc?. Also anything i should pay attention to?.

you will find if you have a 2006 onwards to be safe..the cd player should support mp3's, just drag them to the disc dont make any files or it wont see them. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

MP3 discs work on all touch screen systems, you can see those in 54 plate cars too.

It will only read one folder deep on Mine (MY2006 with touch screen)

MP3CD

It won't read:

MP3CD

-----CD3

So instead of using something like pinnicale instant to copy i can just 'drag and drop' ?. They are audio cd's so somehow i have to convert them to mp3. Once converted can i drag and drop as album1 tracks1-10, album2 tracks1-10 etc etc or do i need a root file.
I can confirm it is a touch screen 2006.

I used Roxio and Nero to create a data disc and yes, just drag and drop till the disc is full.

A word of warning: DO NOT put CD labels on the discs. They can bubble up and get stuck.

You can put up to 20 folders on the disc.
Up to 20 letters for each track and each folder.
Up to 50 tracks in the root and each other folder.

It tried a disc with 100 tracks direct in the root -> only the first 50 will be available.

You can also use CD-RWs!

If you have access to Gracenote to automatically label everything then burn with Nero - preferably Nero Express - you get perfect results . Nero will also convert to Mp3 from other formats for you. If you have a lightscribe burner you can put a label on as it prints direct on the disc. Under no circumstances use a paper label - do you fancy having to remove the whole unit if it comes off and jams everything......?  2006 MY Autobiography. With 'toys'

If you have itunes the files purchased form the store are not compatible with the system. You need to convert them to MP3 which iTunes can do for you surprisingly easily....

I can confirm fe600s comments, I initially burnt a cd with around 280 tracks in the root and could not read past around 50, so , as they were just a mix of tracks, I created folders called A-D E-H I-L etc and put the artists under their relevant folder associated with their name, then was OK. Steve

Sorry I know I am being stupid but I have tried numerous times, how do I get my tunes from my I tunes to range rover so tracks are displayed on the screen. Please help I have tried to convert to mp3 clicking the box in I tunes only to get problem box appear .

To convert files bought from the iTunes store to MP3 (I don't know if this will work with older files that have full DRM on them, but give it a try, it can't hurt...) go to your preferences and select the import preferences to be MP3.

Then highlight the albums/files you want to convert, right click, select 'create MP3 version' from the drop down option box and let iTunes do it's thing. You will then have an album list of duplicates - in your preferences tab make sure that you have file type selected in the view option. In your duplicated list you can click in the file type header to sort the list by file type. Simply copy the MP3 versions to a folder on your desktop and then onto a disk.

As others have said, keep the disk structure to be one folder per CD (if that makes sense) as the system only recognises/navigates one folder deep. I normally get about 7 or 8 albums per disk.
