TDV8 4.4 - Mystery exhaust Pipe (+ oil leak....)

Hi All, hoping you can help.

I have a severe oil leak which is getting worse, too the point where I can't drive the car on the motorway (with the family) now because when you come to a halt, even after a short motorway/high speed run, the cabin fills with burning oil fumes and also smokes significantly from under the bonnet. Had the turbo oil line O-rings replaced and a new oil cooler a few months back, but hasn't solved the issue, also not coming from the front of the engine.

Having a good look under the car, I noticed this little exhaust pipe, its covered in plastic wheel arch line so can't see where it runs to, whilst under the car with the engine running, it puffed out a load of smoke.

Any of the gurus on here know what it is?!

Many thanks, Chris

That's the exhaust for the FBH (fuel burning heater) Thumbs Up

Don't think it would be the reason for you leak though...!! Pete

It should only work when the outside temperature is low and if it does smoke badly it's because the combustion chamber inside the FBH is all clogged up.
Just changed mine and no more smoke.
