Trim removal tips please

Now that my dog guard has totally lifted the interior rear on my car I’d like to tidy up the rest of the rear. I want to start with the load cover supports, but not sure how to get these out if the car for a tidy up.

It’s the rearmost bit in this pic.

Thanks

Jonny

I'm sure that would more trouble than it's worth Jonny. No doubt trying to remove it would end up with lots of broken clips and tabs and then endless rattling when driving, in which us fatty drivers would be sent into meltdown lol. Probably better to clean Insitu with a paint brush and cotton ear buds to get in all the crevices.

Can’t do it BB - my inner OCD will nag at me at 3am until it’s sorted.

This is a bit of a rabbit hole...

I removed one one side of boot trim to mend a missing parcelshelf clip. It was the only way to stop it squeaking, I had tried all sorts of padding before.

I can't precisely remember the sequence, but I do remember a lot, lot more trim had to come out than expected. Also there are various alan key bolts and trim clips concealed behind other pieces of trim. It comes out quite easily when they are revealed:

If I were doing it again I would:
1) remove inner boot trim
2) remove D Pillar internal trim
3) remove trim to side of the rear seats.
4) after that you'll be able to see what comes out...
5) I fixed my clips by epoxying some rigid PVC internally. It works better and is stronger than the original design.

You will need a good set of trim removal pry bars and trim removers.
[b]Be super careful of this: when you remove the D pillar internal trim you may disturb the tailgate aperture rubber, leading to a leak /b]

I suspect that doing this conrtibuted to a leak which ultimately broke my Park Assist Module and the Spare Wheel Well leak here:

Very useful info - many thanks. Certainly not the simple solution I was looking for. Think I’m better placed getting a closer paint match for my dog guard and putting a couple of coats on there.
