CarPlay issues after latest SW update

I got my L405 SVA 10 days ago, when I did my CarPlay worked whether I used the cable or the wireless dongle I'd purchased.

Like you do, you go through and make sure you have the latest updates, I didn't so I installed 19c_19.46.4-458817 and ever since then my CarPlay won't work.

I've tried removing the BT connection from both the car and phone, I've changed cables (both Apple and Non Apple branded), I've tried re-pairing the dongle and each time it fails to connect.

The most recent experience was that the head unit rebooted, loaded CarPlay for about 30 seconds before stopping CarPlay.

I'm at my wits end, I'm waiting for my kid to get home to check Android Auto to see if that's working or not but at the moment I'm stuck with the old LR interface, I miss Waze.

Anyone got ideas?

Hi Stan, thanks for the suggestion.

Interesting point, AA works flawlessly, I'll look to disconnect the battery this weekend.

Disconnect the battery completely BOTH terminals, and touch the terminals together for 10 seconds, replace the negative first, then the positive.
Use the opportunity to test the remaining CCA of the battery, in case it’s weak. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

The latest version of the InControl Touch Pro software is 21B. ISTR there were several CarPlay improvements from 19C. I'm not sure if with the OTA updates they need to install in sequence (if they do you have several more updates to go)
Someone with the proper Landrover diagnostics system should be able to update it directly to 21B.
If the system does not offer any OTA updates towards 21B then a chat with your friendly dealer's service department to get them to nudge the JLR system will be required.
In case you are not aware, OTA updates need either a data connection from a data SIM or via a WiFi connection. (unless you have a 2017MY vehicle in which case WiFi is your only realistic option as the SIM connectivity is 2/3G only and since the retirement of 3G, 2G is stupidly slow for software downloads)
Oh, fill in your profile with your vehicle details, it can help avoid repetitive questions.

When connecting a totally-disconnected battery, it's good practice to connect the positive first in case the spanner touches metalwork whereby it cannot short the battery because the negative isn't connected, then connect the negative as the spanner touching metalwork isn't an issue. MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey
