Evening everyone. I have had a look around online here and wider and cannot find anything on the following, but it might be I am using the wrong terminology when searching.

I have a 4.4 TDV8. I have noticed when on a cold start you can briefly hear what sounds like a turbo spooling (sort of whoooooooop) very quiet and subtle but it is there. (No other issues at all, idles nicely, pulls like a train when driving.)Then the sound stops as if an actuator has closed but there is no restricted performance warning etc. I am pretty sure it did not do that before. I need to get a mate to start when cold and listen at the back through the exhausts, but can anyone tell me if this is normal on these. Only car I knew to do this was the C5 RS6.

It is possible it always did do this, but I totally missed it if it does, so thought I would ask for any thoughts, experience for others, whether theirs does this too.

The FBH is located in the front passenger wheel arch, sort of under the battery but in the wheel well. Its exhaust is down near where the front mudflap would go. Sounds a bit like a jet aircraft when it starts up….. should help you narrow it down. Heard better outside the car.
