No idea - possibly after market for something ?

You can look behind that panel by pulling from the top - it's in a kind of rail on the bottom. Then maybe you can see where it goes....

That’s a Din Power Supply Socket. They are standard fitment in many tractors / plant to power onboard computers and crop guidance GPS, and also on other commercial vehicles - trucks for example to power a small cooker or kettle.

It was probably fitted by a previous owner to supply power to a freezer/fridge or fans on a dog box. They have a higher power rating compared to the usual cigarette type lighter socket - hence probably why it’s been fitted. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
