Scotland 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Fuji White

I had the same quadry so what I did was cut off the compressed pipe clamp to the right angled plastic connector and replaced it with a jubilee clip, in that way it meant I could do the O ring removal and fitting to the plastic housing on the bench.

Then connected the right angled connector to the oil cooler got that on securely then fitted the pipe and tightened the jubilee clip.

Much easier that trying to fit the O ring correctly at full stretch with the risk of dropping it and also that spring clip on the connector itself.

Also there is very little space to manouver that connector with the pipe attached.

Cheers.

sounds like a decent approach, you go with wee Dremel style cutting disc or careful hacksawing diagonally?

If I remember the standard clamp is one that has some latching tabs that latch it in a loop and a special tool tightens it, so then you can just find the join and prize it apart using a small flatblade screwdriver.

Well after my replacement parts came, replacement for cooler and pipe I broke went missing in post, new ones sent out and went to refit tonight. Getting on fine, cooler on and built up cleaned throttle body and inlet plenum and was about to fit whole inlet when noticed these two pipes coming from vacuum pump are not connected to anything, covered in oil from air inlet hose. I do not remember disconnecting them

They seem to go down under front of passenger cylinder bank to I think some kind of vacuum solonoid. I look down and can see where it looks like they go, but only one looks like it connects as other is solid end to solid end rather than soft pipe. Anyway whilst fumbling about a piece comes out, here it is cleaned up

so I am not sure quite how it goes back on, there is an outlet on solonoid that looks like it soft pipe
so guess it goes there and t- piece goes into furthest in pipe and that would seem to be the hard hard pipe connection I originally could see, is there a small section soft pipe missing from t piece to the hard pipe. And then other hardpipe goes into soft pipe. I know that is hard to follow, anybody know how this all goes together? They are not great connections and wouldnt surprise me if they were off to begin with but equally when I was replacing that wee water pipe I snapped I may have pulled them off. other photos below

If you go on ebay and search for the engine, you will see quite a few engines for sale that have good front end photo's that might point you in the right direction.
Thumbs Up

Managed to suss vacuum pipes and got everything else back together, topped up coolant, dash said oil was ok (double click cruise cancel button as was cold) and off I went out for a spin, all seems well, purring and no obvious leaks, happy days.

Thought would check levels and leaks under bonnet and lo and behold cable pull to release bonnet is loose and bonnet wont open, argh!!

popped the floor trim off and then trim round cable release lever and can see its snapped just there. Set vice grips on and bonnet opens, so guess I am looking for a release cable, Quick google and I see this one listed FPF500040 from Advanced Factor where I have been getting parts https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/fpf50004...rhd-models

However googling part number it seems this part is for up to 2009 and my RR is 2012. Is it this one I need LR011474? Annoying if so as it £12 against almost £40. Anyway, I will do search on site to see but anybody know off top of there head? and also, how much of a pia is it to do. Frustrating one, lol, gotta love them, even when your RR likes the comfort of the garage too much. Anyway I took engine under covers off so can clean them whilst waiting as they are covered in oil and coolant. Happy days, lol

There is a parts catalogue (and workshop manual) in the wiki and that says FSE000030 front, FSE000041 centre and LR011706 to the handle.

Still not completely clear from that. Is it LR11474 and LR011706, one is for RHD and other is LHD or something, anybody had this and bought one of these, which is which?

Thanks
