Possible leak from top of windscreen or sunroof?

Hey folks, First let me say that it seems like the sunroof drains are working. I poured water through them to check they drained to the ground, which seemed okay.

It seems like I’m getting a leak from the top of my windscreen during heavy rains. The headliner is getting wet around the sunglasses pocket and then its dripping down onto the center console. I can see some small water droplets on the inside of the glass where the glue attaches the glass to the body. Not ideal.
I called a glass shop today and they suggested the only way to fit it is to remove the windshield, and yada yada yada “the glass might break”.
Anyways, I’d like to try to fix this myself. I ordered some CRL windshield and body sealer (doesn’t dry and is rubber based not silicone). I was thinking to put this stuff into the windshield upper trim cavity, but I can’t get it out. Is it removable? (LR029533 molding)

The sunroof drains are draining. I poured water through them to check they drained to the ground, which seemed okay. If there is a leak from the drain line somewhere between the sunroof cavity and the ground how would I go about tracing it? Remove the headliner? Remove A-pillar trim? Any common spots?

My suspect leak location

Water is pooling here on the head liner fabric and dripping down

Hi,
I would say this is more likely to be overflow from the front of the sunroof tray.
Have you checked your drain tubes are fully clear?
It may just be backing up during heavy rain. 2012 TDV8 4.4 Westminster Santorini black

And FYI that trim you have arrowed will have been damaged when they changed a screen previously, then the fitters glue that trim in so it doesn't fall out...

My early one had a similar leak and it turned out to be badly a fitted screen and the seal along the top was only a few mm. The screen had parted company....

You could remove the screen yourself, you need a long handled stiffish, very sharp, knife and work your way around the edge, it takes a while and you will need help lifting it, then clean all the glue off the body and screen until there is just a few mm left, then refit, loads of videos on youtube ....

But before you do all that check the sunroof drains as Baz says, it's the easiest , cheapest and quickest to check.... Thumbs Up Pete

I did a sunroof drain test last week, but I'll do a more intensive one this week. I'll do a leak test on the windshield as well. 2006 Range Rover 4.4L Gas

Looks like mine a few months ago…i tracked mine down to the front left sunroof drain being partially blocked.
Used a 500ml syringe with some tubing which conveniently fit into the drain holes and pushed through some warm soapy water. After 3 syringes full….the drain was free flowing
