Can you tell me the exact name and number of this part?
My cable's coating gone by the ages, and now the metal tunnel meets directly with the metal cable.
Some of its wires already spined up by the rub, so the situation could be the same to your system.

Since I don't have opportunity and knowledge to disassemble the lower tailgate myself, I need to rely on some profession. I just want to know what is the part to replace and where I can get it the cheapest.

Sadly I cannot help with a part number, I had a cabling company manufacture a new cable for me..

Maybe someone else on this forum can help, just bear in mind that if you are going to purchase a new unit from JLR, the left and right hand cable assemblies will have different part numbers as they are not an identical pair..

Lower tailgate cable stay RIGHT: LR034438

I always thought that the L405 cable was just to retract the tailgate and that the hinge acted to stop it moving past the horizontal.
