United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green
L405 22" Turbine OEM Options

I am a new owner L405 AB and whilst I am in love with the colour (Aintree Green), I am not a big fan of Glass Black Alloys. The car came with the gloss black alloys from factory. As all 4 wheels have light curb rash, I thought why not use this opportunity to refurbish them and change the colour.

From what I have been reserching, the 22" Turbine wheels came in the following colourway:

-Black
-Silver / Diamond cut finish
-Black / Diamond cut finish

I have seen some in back with an almost black chrome finish and some in grey. Are these OEM finishes?

The brochures I have show only black with diamond cut and gloss black (part of black design pack) finishes, but they only go to 2015 so maybe there were others later. Only Range Rovers since 1988

The original design was black diamond cut - although it's more a very dark grey. Proper black is a giveaway of a fake.

Then came a darker version which is pretty rare - it was done to tie in with Dark Atlas trim vs the standard Atlas trim. It was basically a tinted lacquer over the top of the original design.

Finally there's all black - as part of a black pack along with black trim.

Anything that is all silver (and genuine) is a refurb, along with (probably) a good number of the all black ones. Diamond cut refurbs are expensive & therefore less common.

There's also loads of fakes/copies out there.......

Thank you for your help.

What I have now is all black and the car does indeed have the black pack specced. Im just not too fond of the all black wheels and as the wheels need refurbishing and I want to stick to OEM colours, I like the colour on this wheel. Is this the Dark Atlas tinted lacquer?

Looks standard to me.

Looks genuine too as you can see the difference between the centre cap (black) and the wheel (dark grey) Thumbs Up

The dark ones are pretty rare

The image in my avatar is of my actual wheel, in Diamond cut with Grey (Corris I think) finish.

I think wheels finish off the look of the car, and when you spend a couple of grand on them (when new) then I want to see them!

When I got my previous L405, it came with the diamond cut turbines. After 3 years, the lacquer was peeling and there was a good dose of kerb rash, so I had them refurbed. The company doing it said they couldn’t be cut any further, so I had them powder coated in the base colour, which is a dark grey, not black.
