I’ve been through this thought process many times. The trouble is all the alternatives look Absolutely dreadful. There is no other viable alternative to a FFRR for presence, looks, comfort, power, opulence, sense of arrival. Any of the yank stuff I would get laughed at by friends! Whilst the Rolls or Bentley are beautiful internally the exterior is positively horrid - I just can’t take them seriously - they look like something an aging Pedo rockstar would drive. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

The Cullinan looks like a ‘70s custom version of Postman Pat’s van, and the Bentayga looks like a Mitsuoka Q7.

I can tell you what not to choose! I’m on holiday in the UAE at the moment and have rented a ‘Luxury Elite SUV’ (based on my hire car when in Rome princille’ which is an Infiniti QX80. It’s the top spec, so nice to gave cooled seats, semi-aniline leather etc but it’s a proper truck….. the only way it beats the Range Rover is space, as it’s got 7 seats and is longer than an LWB. The main upside is a 5.6 litre V8 without any particulate filters, it does sound rather good and I’m not bothered about 16-17mpg when it cost me £45 to put just over 80 litres in the tank. I had a Navigator in the US last year and it was a much better vehicle, but too big for the UK.

I guess my answer to the question is a Panamera, as that what I replaced mine with, but I can see how most wouldn’t see it as an alternative. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
