drove back from Meribel (1600 miles round trip) having had a week of sun and snow (oh, and broken ribs!!)

Car was immense and never put a tyre wrong. even driving with broken ribs was a gas.

Dropped mine off for a service at Robert Country Vehicles. They also investigated a minor coolant leak and tell me the thermostat housing needs replacing with associated hoses.

Otherwise its been given a clean bill of health so not a bad first year of FFRR ownership 👍😃

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zermatt Silver

Finally got round to changing my TDV8 3.6 front right strut ( complete strut with airbag )
Usually not too bad a job, out on the driveway, but it rained nearly all day, and when it came to the two bolts holding the strut to the knuckle, the top bolt came out OK, BUT.... the lower bolt was completely seized in the knuckle. It took ages using a a gas torch, then with the steering turned to hard right I was then able to swing a sledgehammer to free off the bolt it was a Censored Censored nightmare. Hence the job took me about 5-6 hours. Big Cry

One thing I noted was that the old strut I removed was a Delphi item, and as per the date on the label manufactured 2006, so as it lasted from 2007 ( Car build year ) to 2025 with about 142.000 miles on the clock, that is certainly a good advert for Delphi. This week I will check the age of the left hand unit, if that is old, then it will be replaced.......when the weather is dryer and warmer Whistle

So since about 2017 driving a TD6 and now also the TDV8 I have only had one breakdown in all that time and after the air bag failed, hence the job above, I still managed to limp home without needing recovery. Tempting fate I know, like an idiot, I had promised the grand daughter that I would tow a horse box tomorrow for her to compete hence working in the rain Big Cry Thud

Attended a big Land Rover meet, followed by a drive out across Dartmoor. Well over 100 Land Rovers present. Mostly defenders, but there were a few Range Rovers. Managed to get some nice pictures…

Fitted my new fullfat sticker supplied by Pete

The badge is straight it's the curved glass that make it look like it's not. After cleaning the glass and warming it up with my heat huns it's on

Scotland 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey

Handed her into an independent in Glasgow today…..

Driving home Friday night from work, heard a bit of a ‘pop’ with power loss then restricted performance, when accelerating onto the motorway.

Taking her down to the garage, she will initially pull away ok from a stand, then not much power until around 30, then pulls away ok….. so just waiting now see how many pennies!!

Cleaned it thanks to some winter sun.

Replaced both front height sensors today, fixed my harshness problem completely, now back to wafting. In the end I used Aerosus units.

Unfortunately I had to destroy the old ones to get them apart, the Torx machine screws weld themselves to the brass threaded inserts in the sensor body and the plastic is pretty weak, you need to recover the bolts as new sensors don't come with them so you need to hack away the plastic to be able to clamp the brass fixing to get the Torx out.

Both brackets quite rusty so cleaned them up and rustproofed before refitting using some copper grease, hopefully if I have to take them off they'll be easy to remove.

Did the usual height calibration and CVD calibration afterward, all good now, hopefully for a long while.

Noticed the NSF sensor was not smooth, so that was probably the dodgy one, the other was stiff, but smooth.

Also got me one of them there stickers, looking mighty fine.
