L405 Alarming when Locking

My 2014 sdv8 has started sounding the alarm when I lock it with the fob. Both fobs do it. I get two beeps and sometimes the wing mirrors fold, sometimes not. The alarm triggers around 15 - 30 seconds after instigating the lock. I can stop the alarm by pressing the lock button again. All doors are locking.

Now looking at the problem the car locks with no alarm when using the door handle button ie keyless locking. I have a “last alarm” for the rear left door showing in the service menu. This door locks correctly, the soft close works and the light on the door handle illuminates when locking.

All this seems to have occurred after trying to switch off keyless entry. I tried to set this up using the recognised process on the fob, but it failed to work, I just got two flashes of the dash indicator lights.

Before I start swapping the rear door lock does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem might be.

I think this is the door latch failing. A common fault and similar to the symptoms I had. The door would not lock with fob - so alarm would sound, mirrors would fold and I’d get the chirps to say “door open”. I used to lock with fob, (alarm sounded), unlock with fob, then re-lock with keyless push on handle on dodgy door in question and that worked until I could get the latch changed.
Compounded in my case as I had two latches fail within weeks of each other, so “last alarm trigger” was showing different doors!

Only used it for a couple of weeks, as wasn’t comfortable using keyless to lock car when I wasn’t at home or work.
I guess a final check would be bonnet switch bracket…but I’d go for the door latch as a 99% certainty. If you have Gap tool, it’ll confirm latch failure. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.

I’ll check the bonnet as I have been under there recently so may be an issue. What’s puzzling me is the reported faulty door is locking perfectly. I understand the latch has a micro switch which tells the car it’s locked so possibly that has failed.

Yeah, I think it’s the microswitch. On my 2017, the app would alert me and record that the car was unlocked, even though all doors were locked with keyless method. L460 460e PHEV AB. Belgravia green.
