I believe this is one of the speakers that are in the rear of the front seats on the 1700w system

That is going under the front seat.

This is how a similar one is removed in an Evoque:

And in a Sport:

You appear to be correct thank you.

I am trying to establish where the sub is on a 2013 L405 with the mid range 825w system.

This should be the definitive answer at last!

http://grahamlandick.com/range-rover/

The sub should be under the drivers seat in all 3 options in 2013.

Thumbs Up

Cheap upgrade!!!

My little 380W system sounds awesome to me, however I was brought up on Binatone Japanese battery radios! (I later discovered Hacker British made radios which are still awesome if you can find a good one) Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Yes, there’s a lot of mixed opinions on the systems. Now I know where the sub should be I need to check and see if it’s actually working..

I started of with the 380w system which was not good, i changed the amp under the passenger seat to the 825w amp then used the IID tool to update the system to the 825w system which then gave me the 4 sound settings which made a huge difference, then i changed all the speakers to the signature carbon speakers in all 4 doors and the signiture subwoofer under the drivers seat and with the upgrade i could also add the speakers which were missing in the center of the dash and the shelf speakers which were missing in the luggage area. It made a huge difference.

Sad A word of caution before anyone gets too carried away on hugely expensive upgrades to improve sound quality, at the average age of a FFRR owner, by far the weakest component is likely to be the listening devices in your skull! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Ask me how I know Laughing
I have a very high-end stereo system with a £10K pair of electrostatic speakers in my living room, and was astonished to find the difference my new hearing aids made! Embarassed Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

@Richie, good luck with the upgrades, sounds like Jon is the man to advise! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I’ve got like 7 old LINN boxes in the house to entertain me music wise. Will def be looking for the signature system if I go L405. See it’s available in the Sport too…. Will wash my mouth out 🤣.

Ok, I believe the sub should be under the drivers seat but I can’t see it, hear it, or feel it under there. The L322 had the sub in the side panel in the boot and I am wondering whether early L405’s like mine did too.

I’m pretty sure I’ve see an L405 on YouTube with this grill and a sub was behind it. What’s the grill for otherwise?
