United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

The westfalia one I’ve got is good. You buy the 2 covers from LR which it shows in the destructions and you don’t have to remove anything….. It’s pretty much invisible too once it’s on. Would recommend it as an aftermarket add on if you don’t have one. Better than the other, dunno, they will all do a job but Personally I preferred the idea of the westfalia as the one on the L322 OEM was westfalia.

Coding is debatable, they didn’t code mine and everything works….. in terms of fitting, I got mine done at Mobile solutions in derby. Depending on price it might be worth travelling. I think they did me the westfalia one well under a grand a few years back. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Looking at this and it’s cheaper to buy a Sankey for the Lightweight!!

That said, my departing 322 gets plugged into a conditioner when it’s in the garage using a CTEK and an adaptor into the white tow socket. Is there a way to get the white socket wired into a 405 solely for keeping the battery topped up when it’s put away for a while (often a week or more at a time)? I don’t want to be opening the bonnet and hooking it up every time. 2021 3.0 P400 Vogue

You can buy a 13 pin westfalia electrics kit for the 405 for about £100 from PF jones. It just plugs into 2 connectors behind the rear crash bar. No need to touch the wiring inside the car. I’m assuming you could also buy a 7N and 7S kit. I don’t think you can just get a 7S (why would anyone normally want that) so you would have to fab one or just use the 13 pin and get the right plug for the Ctek.

However.
1, I don’t know hard it is to get at those connectors with the crash bar in place. Should be possible though.
2, there is not really anywhere proper to mount the socket unless you have a tow bar fitted. I’m sure that it’s possible to fangle something together if you are that way inclined tho. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

As the main battery is in the boot area, I'd just be connecting a permanent CTEK cable to that. Leave it somewhere out of the way in the boot space. Unless you need an external socket.....
