The westfalia one I’ve got is good. You buy the 2 covers from LR which it shows in the destructions and you don’t have to remove anything….. It’s pretty much invisible too once it’s on. Would recommend it as an aftermarket add on if you don’t have one. Better than the other, dunno, they will all do a job but Personally I preferred the idea of the westfalia as the one on the L322 OEM was westfalia.

You can buy a 13 pin westfalia electrics kit for the 405 for about £100 from PF jones. It just plugs into 2 connectors behind the rear crash bar. No need to touch the wiring inside the car. I’m assuming you could also buy a 7N and 7S kit. I don’t think you can just get a 7S (why would anyone normally want that) so you would have to fab one or just use the 13 pin and get the right plug for the Ctek.

As the main battery is in the boot area, I'd just be connecting a permanent CTEK cable to that. Leave it somewhere out of the way in the boot space. Unless you need an external socket..... |
