I've got one similar to the bottom one which is very good.
Warning about the top one though. I had one and as I lifted the car it just buckled and snapped. SCAREY!!

Do they go high enough. Funnily enough I just had my sprinter jack out while I was sorting my car stuff out. It’s a heavy bit of kit. If only we could get a proper top plate made for it then it would be useful on the 405. I do wonder if I could modify my 322 ally plate in some way…. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I am just trying to do a deal for some Sprinter bottle jacks. IIRC, someone makes the adaptor plate for the L322, does nobody make one for the L405 yet? 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

Not electric I know, but has anyone used one of these? They often seem to be out of stock, 520mm seems good, but would still need an adapter for the L405. I use a big trolley jack for most lifting at home, but some jobs need a secondary jack, and a bottle jack is usefully compact to carry in the car for emergencies.

Hi,

I've got a couple, a Merc Sprinter unit and a 20 Tonne HD unit, but nothing seems ideal.

Unfortunately the HD one doesn't go under the steps if the tyre is flat, so I need to put in to offroad mode to get the jack under the steps or use the scissor jack to get it to bottle jack height coz I'm not crawling under without at least 1 jack and I defo don't trust the scissor jack.

Considering an exhaust driven air bag right now as they are reasonably priced and pack flat, but no expereince of these, they use a similar bag for recoveries so may be some mileage in it and should avoid scrabbling in the dirt quite so much.

Anyone tried these, potentially they could be used via a compact compressed air can, similar to emergency tyre fix but without the slime ?

I need to be getting some Nascar air jacks Thumbs Up

I put mine on solid timber to get the height and improve the footprint on the ground. Thumbs Up

Be ideal if it was possible to rig up a connector to the car reservoir / air system

I got one of these PCL hose reels to connect my little compressor, it’s got 20m of self-reeling hose, dead easy to get out/put away:

When out and about, I'd run it off a heavy duty portable 12v air compressor, like the sort the off-roading places sell. Would need to make up an adapter from the compressors tyre valve type fitting to PCL / Euro / XF or whatever air connector is on that thing.

The compressor can double up for tyre inflation duties as well - but more to carry around of course... I used to have a plumbed in air system in my 110 when I did a lot of off-roading in Australia. Sand driving, means you're always 'airing down' the tyres, so a good compressor is essential.

At home, I have a big compressor in the garage. But then I also have a 4T scissor lift, so there's no need for a jack when at home! Laughing 1992 RR Classic 3.9 efi Vogue

I'd be a bit worried about the 3T one! I've had a LR factory supplied scissor jack strip out on me on first use (Disco 3).

The 5T one looks ok-ish, but as you've said has limited stroke.

I think for simplicity and not going to let-you-down, the Merc Sprinter jack wins every time though! Pun intended Laughing
