Hi, you can still insure your car even if it doesn't have an MOT, cars on a SORN for instance can still be insured agains loss, you just can't drive them on the road excepting to and from the testing station, you won't be able to tax it though if that is due without a valid MOT.

I know. For the cars I've had that failed and I needed a few days to sort them ( so out of valid MOT ) , it never crossed my mind that I would be telling the insurance. V8 or else ... |

Nor I, nor that an insurance company would only insure between certain hours. I'd be asking if they are going to discount the policy by a 1/3 considering they are only covering 2/3 of the time. V8 or else ... |

To confirm then policy was a continuation from the BMW i trade in when i boughtnthe Fatty in June last year.

Insurance invalid without an MOT has been a thing for a long time, but I'd always just assumed that only related to driving it & not the theft component.
