EGT sensor/ EML on.

Hi,
Can anyone shed some light on these fault codes attached?

2016 L405 4.4. EML is on. No faults or any issues running or driving.

Codes 2080-62 and 0546-17. Both suggest EGT sensor bank 1 sensor 1. I replaced the first sensor on the drivers side (uk car) (RHD).
I've circled it on the pic. The one after the oxygen sensor.

The codes and EML clear but then come back on after one or two starts.

Wondering whether anybody has had the same problem.

Thanks.

There is no pic
If you have changed the correct sensor it could be the plug or harness problems.

The P2080-62 compares more than 1 sensor for mismatch at cold start so if one is short/open circuit/high resistance etc then this DTC activates this code number.

See these from WS manual

Thanks Kot.
Makes sense what you are saying, and I was planning trial and error on the other sensors.

Hopefully these pics I've uploaded will now show.

👍

Seems to be my current issue, which happened while I’m away towing a tin tent…..

Managed to get a garage to read and clear the codes, but looking at this it’s probably likely to pop up again when I start it up in the morning.

Hopefully it will make it home without a restricted performance error. Does anyone know how hard it is to swap out the EGT sensor and which one needs doing. Presumably the turbine temperature sensor, on the passenger side, I will have to dig out the WM and have a look back if I make it home!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It could well be the egt sensor on the manifold on the left side. I changed 3 them on mine, as I remember, 2 on the exhaust, but the manifold one is the tricky one. There is threads on here detailing the process to change that one.

FYI, when Ecuador fault codes are cleared, the fault may still be there but the eml light doesn’t come on til 3 activations have been received again by the ecu. Mine is currently showing the eml for the exhaust gas sensor, when I’m home later in the week I’ll dig out the lr assist fault diagnosis, sensor wasn’t in stock when I took it in last week First time FFRR owner

I had the same issue, I posted about it on forum. I would say it will be the sensor on n/s exhaust manifold. ( have read on my post , may help) it is a tinker to get out, access is tight. I would say lift bonnet to service position, it helps a lot. They can be very tight , my snapped and needed to replace exhaust manifold.

Just as an FYI, I’ve just had mine replaced under warranty. The sheet from Landrover shows it as a 0.7hr job and £220 all in. As the genuine sensor is probably about £80 it’s it really worth the faffing about….. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
