That’s what I call detailing, brilliant job.
Have you got any photos of the body underside before refitting ?

Thanks for all the comments folks!

I'll take a few pics of the underside before I refit it. Not much to show as it's mostly covered in dinitrol now!

I'd previously repaired the rear sills so there wasn't any major rust underneath apart from the holes in the spare wheel well.

I've just removed the plastic covers that go over the fuel tank, I was surprised how much crap was in them. I think I've removed a couple of KG of mud that's collected in them. There's a couple of metal panels that form the sides of these covers so I've cleaned those up and repainted.

Next years job will be the front end as it's looks crappy in comparison now! (or I could finally make a start on the these 2 and get one of them ready to sell!)

Hi Folks

Quick pic of the underside before we did a test fit of everything.

The subframe went in with no problems, couple of brake line to make up and then I'll be able to do the final fit in between Christmas & New Year.

The final cost of parts and paint came to £1600! Not a cheap exercise but hopefully it means the (back of the) car is good for another 20 years! 2008 L322 Supercharged

Doing the rear frame is definitely an expensive project but it's one that's 100% worthwhile doing if you've got intentions to keep the car long term.

I think I'm going to drop the rear end off my 2012 next year at some point so I can do the same. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Hi Folks

Happy new year! Last week I managed to get some time to re-fit the subframe and not everything went to plan!

The connector to the rear right ride height sensor got squished so I had to replace the connector. Since doing that I can't get that sensor to work so I need to investigate further. Can't seem to get power to it, the reader is showing no volts and a quick check with a volt meter isn't showing any volts on the wires. Further investigation required on that one.

The parking brake, which didn't work before, still isn't working properly. Previously it didn't work at all but I had no dash warnings. It now works when you're moving slowly, it'll pull on the rear brakes but doesn't do anything when parked up stationary. It also now shows a fault message on the dash so I'm one step forward on that one & one back!

Ran out of time over the holidays so will need to re-visit it over the next couple of weekends 2008 L322 Supercharged

When you “squished” the sensor is it possible that you got a short blowing a fuse? Unlikely I know as I don’t expect you would have power going to it but just a thought. John
