If you open the roof fully and you will see a black channel between opening and body, look towards the back of the car down that channel and you will see a small hole one either side, if you poke you head through the roof you will easily see them

Thanks Drf.

Looking at them like that will tell you if they have got really bad, but not what they look like underneath or if they are leaking.

You will see if they are blocked for sure and if they have corrosion around holes, best policy is pour a cup of water in there and see if it appears out behind the rear wheels or if it just holds. Only way to tell in reality is pull headlining but they won't want you doing that. if it has a cloth headliner you will see staining around grab handle area's if its leaking. Mine has leather so harder to see

Thanks DrF

I suppose the other thing to do is take my moisture meter with me to test the headliner around the handle.

There’s already an onboard moisture meter: -you open the rear door slightly, and water gushes out! Shocked Rolling with laughter “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I am still confused here, surely the drains still exist if you have a fixed pano roof, the only time they wouldn't exist is if you had no sunroof at all? If you look at the parts for the roof the sunroof channel for fixed pano roof still has drain points???

here's a pic showing the drain pipes,

with the trams for the mechanics i can see why you need the drain pipes but the fixed doesnt have these so no water to drain away...
unfortunately i cant find any diagrams to support my theory.. ... - .- -.

I would have thought the fixed glass roof is bonded into place much like the windscreen and won’t require drains, happy to be corrected however Thumbs Up Jonathan

It would make sense and be the same as everyone else with a glass roof (not opening sunroof) if it was just sealed in like the windscreen or indeed the rearmost windows (load space side windows) but then again JLR and common sense in the same sentence Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Geoff
