Euro 6 3.0. SE. A lot of talk about failures with the 3.0 but I've had 4 cars with this engine and none have missed a beat! All LR cars from 1984

Quite agree with all that Gremlin said in his post, however you should get an extended warranty. FFRR are expensive if they go wrong, (luckily I have had no problems at all)but I've always changed cars after 3 or 4 years and sold privately. All LR cars from 1984

I’m on my 3rd V8 Diesel - every one has been faultless - no issues whatsoever. I’ve also got several friends and family members who have had failures with the V6 diesel. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

For balance,: the owner survey on this very forum says they are in a tiny minority, probably just as common as V8 AB’s written off due to rotten roof drains “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that? |

I think all models have something that can do wrong…most of the time its down to how they have been looked after by owners and luck of the draw |

Chalky makes a good point about a warranty or the like.

I'm inclined to agree with Gremlin.
