Don't be like me and take an impromptu shower at the first tight corner of the morning. Pop off those trims and check the drains at least yearly.

Both of mine were blocked, attacked with a long plastic cable tie as weapon of choice. Follow up with a few jugs of hot water. No corrosion noted though, which is something!

The trims run from front to rear either side of the sunroof glass and can be levered out with a plastic trim removal tool. (This is where you can fit the optional roof rails)

I am still confused here, surely the drains still exist if you have a fixed pano roof, the only time they wouldn't exist is if you had no sunroof at all? If you look at the parts for the roof the sunroof channel for fixed pano roof still has drain points???

If I was viewing a car with an opening roof, how easy would it be to inspect the state of the drains?

Obviously I can see from the videos where the drains are, but what can be done in a normal viewing of a potential purchase at a dealers without asking to strip the car too much?

I’m assuming a hand on the carpets at the bottom of the B and C posts will reveal any serious water ingress along with an inspection of the headlining.

Is there anywhere to get a hand in to see if it’s wet, assuming it’s been raining recently?

I have a small 6mm diameter head Endoscope with lighting that connects to my phone, is there anywhere to shove that in to see if the drains have broken away from the tray.

I’m not actually that bothered unless there is serious water ingress actually inside the car that could have already done some damage, as I’m more than capable of removing the sunroof, dropping the headlining and drilling out the rusted originals to replace with bonded in plastic or brass ones made up in my lathe.

Actually it could be a really good way to pay less for a car I could prove there is an issue with.
