Do you have glass cover Stan? If the screen is damaged/chipped badly? Why not have the screen replaced then you can be sure its not the glass at fault Thumbs Up

If it’s the windscreen busted it’s the insurance company and doesn’t count as a claim.

If u still have warranty you can ask and might get range Rover badged glass.

Whooops. Just realised there was a page two and Craig had answered . As an aside never found any agro with the insurance company & I keep replacing the glass Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I had one replaced on my last FF, done by Autoglass under insurance (IIIRC I had to pay seventy quid) I was very pleased it wasn't marked Land Rover but was Pilkington and they replaced all the clips for the surrounds. Geoff

Took GS Bristol 15 days to replace my windscreen - failed elements on the driver side. Couldn't get the parts or the fitter they said. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

There are two connection per A pillar
I had mine replaced by National Windscreen and they managed to connect one of the lower wires to the wrong cable - hence that side did not work.
The cables they connect to are thick and around 2 to 3mm diameters not the thin ones, beware they are right next to each other.

On the L405 there are also two 40 amp fuses in the engine fuse box.

Hope this helps

update...from reading other posts re the plugs/wires being incorrectly connected [windscreen installers???]
i removed the pillar trim and found a thin wire/plug connected and a thick wire/plug loose..
checked with a multimeter and when the front screen was on there was voltage from the thick plug/wire and nothing from the thin one.

the wiring diagram confirmed the wrong plug was connected so i change the two plugs over and it looks like it all works...waiting for frost now to confirm.. ... - .- -.

The wiring for the 2 sides of the heated front screen is from a junction box in the engine bay .The relay is common to both sides and after that the 12 v feed splits into 2 , each of which is protected by a 40amp fuse . I suppose you could use a test meter in these points ( with the engine running ) . If there is no 12V at the relay then its down to the switch itself or the body control module . If there is 12v at the fuses then its the screen or more likely the connection to it . If you have a diagnostic then you will be able to see the BCM go live ?

The passenger side of my L405 windscreen does not demist and I have been trying to find the fuses after reading that there are two (one for each side). Nothing on my vehicle tells me where they are or even if they exist. Have I imagined it? Guidance please. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

I've downloaded the wiki. It doesn't mention fuse box locations on l405. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

Some of the individual fuses changed for later cars, but I think the fuse boxes are in the same locations.
