Jaguar XF3.0s diesel.

Folks, just on the look out for a new to me car, as insurance have finally paid out. Anyway, I need something that is of a decent size and I keep coming back to these. Anyone had one? Real world experiences?

I'm looking at 2013/14 models for around £8-10 grand.

Was thinking of getting back into an L322, but road tax and insurance are rather higher then the Jag option.

Cheers

I had a pre-facelift (2012) one from new, did about 80,000 miles in it. I had it remapped quite early on and the only fault in my ownership was a plastic inlet manifold that started to leak and was replaced under warranty.

Thanks for the reply. Was all set on getting one, then went down a rabbit hole of stories of cranks failing etc. Of course, I appreciate that some folk only post bad stories on the internet, having owned fatties myself.

Genuinely torn between one or a Skoda VRS petrol.

Never had one myself, but colleagues have and none of them had a problem. They’re nice cars.

I've had the 3.0 diesel engine in other cars but not in an XF and have had no problems with it.

I had a 2014 XFR with the 8 speed gearbox for 5 years and it was fantastic. Blisteringly quick with midrange acceleration that would match most exotics, it averaged 21mpg locally and would do 37mpg on a longer run sitting at 70mph.

I'd say a 3.0 Diesel XF would make a nice mile muncher, if economy isn't too important then the XFR is a cracking piece of kit.

Thanks, got a few runs up to your neck of the woods a few times next year, hence diesel.
