I absolutely love my car which has surprised me considering the cars I have owned over the years.

It’s 12 1/2 years old, has a few creaks from the interior and has old tech inside. It’s also immaculate outside with only the very slightest wear inside on the drivers lower bolster, centre arm rest and drivers door armrest. The wear referred to is only small lines and in the case of the door a small amount of the ivory leather dye coming off. I would give the interior 9.5 out of 10 as no scratches, dents, marks and everything works correctly.

I have a aux belt squeal when cold but have decided to leave at this stage as want to fit genuine LR tensioners, idler pulleys etc as well as a genuine alternator, water pump and air con pump.

I do the following at the moment and would like to know what else anyone does to preserve their RR as it gets older.

Oil change every 2.5 to 3k miles using the correct C1 Millers or Valvoline oil.
Genuine or Mhale oil filter with each change.
1 bottle of liquid Molly oil saver every oil change which is designed to help preserve the life or all rubber o rings etc in the engine.
Premium diesel 100% of the time plus either Millers Diesel additive or Cetane booster both of which keep the fuel system clean.
New genuine fuel filter every 10k miles.
Brake fluid every 2 years.
Coolant checked for protection every oil change and will be changing likely next winter although crystal clear (well pink clear) and at full correct protection levels.
Diifs and transfer box oils replaced this year with premium oils and will replace next winter when I change coolant.
Gearbox had a new sump and fresh correct life fluid 8 oil (nervous of getting a power flush)
Underneath treated with Lannguard at specialist last year and have just ordered an XL lannoguard bundle to treat again.
The underneath is extremely clean.
Fresh full set of Pirelli Zero tyres on standard 19” alloy wheels.

I am super fussy about detailing my cars so it’s waxed with high quality graphene wax every month (the paint work is in incredible shape and smooth as glass). All glass is treated with Rain X and cleaned with their cleaner, all plastic trim is treated with high quality cleaner and protector as are the wheels and tyres. The interior is kept immaculately clean also using only the best products.

It’s like driving a new car!

I had an alignment check earlier in the year which highlighted slight wear in the rear lower arm Bush’s, these are awaiting replacement.

I think my prop centre bearing may be on its way out as I get a slight vibration which can only be felt with my left foot on the plastic footrest at low speeds when accelerating. It’s not noticeable at any other time and my LR specialist can find nothing wrong.

I have never changed the power steering fluid or had the Air con serviced in the 2 years I have owned the car.

Is there anything else I should be doing to preserve this Awsome car? It’s on 93000 miles.

You obviously care for your car.
My only question is why do you have 19" wheels?

I have a set of mint genuine RR 21” wheels with new Scorpion Zero tyres. They look amazing on the car but I hadn’t told my insurance company and was paranoid so removed them. I also told myself smaller wheels and taller tyres would be kinder to the suspension as it matures…

I did try selling them but didn’t get a bite. I actually did a quote on my insurance to add commuting and alloy wheels as a mod and excluding the £20 admin fee reduced my premium by £1.24!!

Standard 20". Mine came with westminster style but were hard to clean so I changed them for the 10 spoke.

Mine is a Vogue so believe the 19” wheels are standard. The spec is a bit of a mystery as I have a badge on the rear I have not seen before after the Vogue sign. It has perforated leather, heated and cooled seats, sunroof, heated rear seats, HK audio. It doesn’t have a leather headlining or adaptive cruise control. I have the 6 piston large Brembos but think they came on all 4.4 TDV8’s.

The sign after the Vogue sign is almost the same as the saint logo from the old TV series…

I recently replaced both rear brake calipers due to sticking. The fronts are original, has anyone used the re-furb service offered on E-Bay where they take yours, replace all seals and finish in a colour of your choice?

Is replacing the seals and possibly the pistons something easy to do for a home mechanic? I have never done before but would be willing to give it a go if it’s not too challenging. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather
