United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Barolo Black

I guess the car is worth what it is worth to you. A lot of people wouldn't give you a £1000 for the car regardless of its condition because they don't want one. And so you need to ask what it's worth to you. The golden rule is, the cheaper it is the more you will have to probably spend on it. I bought mine at the beginning of the year for 16K with 80000 miles. Ive spent 5k on it so far with probable another 5k to go. Most of what I have spent on it is preventative measures, but to me every penny spent on it is worth it as I have no intention to sell it. 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

That makes sense.

I was just surprised to see such a gap in price between "book" price and what people are selling them for.

I am however of the opinion that more expensive does not necessarily=better when it comes to used cars.

The one I have my eye on is not the cheapest, and not the most expensive, it doesn't even have the least mileage. But it does sit nicely in the middle. To my mind a reasonable price for the age/mileage and considering the amount of preventive maintenance that has already been carried out.

Just a shame it's a 5-6hr drive away, so can't go and ogle it, without being fairly sure I am driving it home.

My buying decision would be based on the condition of the bodywork only. Engine, gearbox & transmission can all be replaced. If you have a body that is rotten as a pear that could cost a small fortune. And if it's that rotten you would really need someone that really knows what he's doing and doesn't take any short cuts as the rot will only come back if not done properly. And they will charge accordingly. You wouldn't build a house off Sh** foundations! 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

Hi again,
I have had a wild card thrown into the mix. I have found a 2013 5.0 s/c autobiography. It is slightly outside the budget, but the key for me is it is in very good condition with only 36k miles, this is genuine mileage after checking the MOT history. The caveat to this is that it had the engine e replaced under warranty by JLR at around 15k miles. No indication why, but the invoices are present.

The only issues I am aware of are;
1. The passenger side massage function is not working,
2. The sun blind for the pano roof, although it retracts all the way, it does not coil the slack into the headlining, it just seems to bunch up.

For point 1, does anyone have any insights into what the possible costs could be?
For point 2, I assume this is an issue with the mechanism inside the head lining?

Any thoughts.
