Struggling pump noise from engine bay | |
Hi All,
Long time lurker, first time poster and now owner of my 4th RR that I’ve had for 4 years and has never let me down.
I’m taking it on a long trip this winter so I’m doing a sweeping schedule of maintenance.
It’s a 2010 Autobiography L322 5L S/C petrol with 68,000 miles on the clock.
If you’re looking into the engine bay this noise comes from the right hand side of the engine bay - it sounds like a struggling pump and is loud enough to hear from inside the car if you’re really listening out for it!
It only seems to do it when the engine is under temperature, as it gets up to temperature the noise goes away - but I’m unsure if this is related.
It doesn’t sound right (kind of reminds me of the noise of an old fashioned broken electric fuel pump) and I’m hoping someone here could help me understand what it is and whether this is normal?

Many thanks!
