Gearbox Remap ZF8?

I've a couple of previous posts regarding the quality of the gear change at higher engine speeds. In short, fast (including kick down) acceleration seems to confuse the gearbox in that in D or S, it drops a gear (or two) but doesn't engage that gear quick enough, resulting in the engine spooling up and then the gear slamming into engagement. Gearbox has 85000 miles with an oil change around 20000 miles ago. All software is up to date as of last week.

I've found an interim fix, which is to leave the transmission in snow and gravel mode all the time. It now works perfectly in all respects so it's clearly a software issue.

Wondering if it's possible to remap the normal gear change.... 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

I will be watching any responses with interest as mine does something similar, although I haven't tried putting it in any other mode (never thought of it).

Mine seems to be re-learning all by itself though, albeit slowly. My indy reset the gearbox adaptions to clear a fault, which worked but left an issue whereby if you coasted a bit (eg entering a roundabout where a gap suddenly opens up) then needed 'spirited' acceleration the ecu had a fart, couldn't work out what gear to be in then slammed into engagement with an almighty thump. This all happened about 1200 miles ago, however, it's now much better and only does it occasionally and nowhere near as violently. In general all gear changes are very smooth it's just this occasional blip.

Car has 118,000 miles and gearbox recently (before the fault showed) given a flush and new (correct) oil put in. Drives:

Sounds similar.

I’ve put a couple of hundred miles on it in gravel and snow mode. I thought I’d try it in normal this morning and it seems to have sorted it. Most bizarre. Hopefully I haven’t spoken too soon. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster
