The intermittent non-starting and getting a click when the starter button is pressed is what happened to my 2012 WM. A new starter motor was fitted and the problem went away. There are several threads on the 322 section about this. So it might be the same thing on your 405. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Yes, agree with CS, could be starter relay fault, starter motor fault, weak battery, or corroded earth fault. You need to check for all of these and rule out. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that? |

The 405 also suffers with corrosion in the junction box for the main battery cable in the OSF arch |

Thanks for the info guys. Good call Mikey, I hadn’t heard of this issue. How do I get to that junction box to check. |
