Where is the hood switch??

Am trying to trace a battery drain, need to activate the hood/bonnet switch t put the car to sleep
Have got a picture of it in the workshop manual but I'm just being stupid and I cant find it under the bonnet, anybody give me some directions?

Found it.
Well I've found the switch, its holding bracket is broken and the switch is hanging down by the brake fluid reservoir! All the best

Just a piece of information that I found out about the hood switch from the WSM that might be useful;

When the bonnet is open you can pull the plunger up on the switch and this simulates the bonnet closed position. So no need to stick something heavy on it to get a bonnet closed condition.
Also in the bonnet closed position the switch goes to open circuit, so you could just disconnect the switch to simulate that the bonnet is closed. All the best

Indeed. The alarm can sometimes go off when the car sits in the sun, as the bonnet gets hot. I bent the bracket up slightly and put a rubber grommet on the end of the plunger to stop this. No issues since.

The sensor is the plug with purple colour inside, the blue finger pointing to where it is connected !
