2024-Security issues resolved or is a Ghost etc still needed

As above - picked up a 2024 AB but not sure if this needs a ghost installed? Have the issues been resolved or are these still being stolen?

According to JLR’s CEO the issue is fixed and insurance prices appear more reasonable than a year ago for most people.

I have something similar to a Ghost fitted and have turned off the keyless function. I prefer it for piece of mind. LR don’t mind because when mine went in for the security recall, as part of their check list, they asked if it had a Ghost fitted and just shrugged when I said yes. No issues with warranty.

Fitting a decent tracker often brings down the insurance cost. MY23 D350 HSE

when I purchased my approved used L405 I asked whether fitting a ghost would cause warranty issues and the response was a def no problem, crack on. Keyless off, ghost and an extra tracker, and a wheel lock and I can leave mine and feel pretty comfortable that in most places, there will be an easier target than mine First time FFRR owner

I made enquiries of my home alarm people and I can connect my car to the house alarm. Any movements and the world is informed via central station.
No cover away from home … but very reasonable add on if you are putting in a new alarm system. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Brand was Orisec

To replace my system with a new box of tricks etc was around 1250.00. Including one car tag.utaliaing current house sensors and so on

My alarm company operates in essex Kent and Hertfordshire. PM if you need a contact. Top notch.

Now there’s a thought. A wireless house PIR in the car!

The answer is it’s a personal decision based on your risk assessment and comfort required when leaving the RR parked wherever you park it. MY23 D350 HSE

So you’ve answered your own question! No need for additional security or trackers even if they might reduce the cost of your insurance. Happy days. MY23 D350 HSE

You definitely do not need an aftermarket immobiliser on an L460, the number stolen in London, say, is tiny.

For L405 facelift 2018 on probably does need one either. Less certain here. I offered my insurers a Ghost option and was not offered any discount or anything. I went for a Disklock for peace of mind as I hardly use it so the inconvenience is minimal. And because in my area it means plenty of visibly easier targets. Sorry neighbours.

Pre 2018 I’d seriously consider a Ghost for peace of mind but the thing with immobilisers is that it may prevent the theft, it does not prevent some chav having a go and the damage that causes. So then do you need both Disklock and Ghost?

Finally, insurance. If mine is stolen then I’ll claim. But at 5 years old with choice options, it’s irreplaceable from my perspective. I can be made whole only from an economic value perspective not from a real/personal value perspective. So I really do not want this fatty to be stolen from me. Therefore this an argument for me to get a Ghost despite everything above. But I haven’t yet. Or have I. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

If its a wireless alarm system then its easily defeated with a wifi jammer. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

There’s a very clever cash saver. Unexpected by most car thieves.

I was asking about the alarm for a friend…… Rolling Eyes .. he had two cars taken from his driveway. Keys in a faraday box, so they broke in and stole the box.
Updated yesterday…
The Volvo had a tracker , apparently impossible to take out Question , anyway tracked it to the east end then Tilbury docks. Still there. Police moving snail like, will only want his statement two weeks on. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits.
