Hi all you knowledgeable folk, I need help again please? Mishap with a pheasant caused lower griller, front fog light Etc to be smashed, no worry there, It has also pushed the very furthest O/S/F park sensor into the bumper. I've looked in places but I can get no definative as to if I need to remove the bumper cover? I'm hoping I can access through the wheel arch liner.

Any sound advice is greatly welcomed

Might depend on how it’s been pushed in. If it’s only the round centre part then it should simply push back into the “holder” if you can get to it from behind. If however the holder has been pushed in then you may need to get it off do effect a proper repair.

Getting the bumper off is not a big job, Powerful UK have one of their videos where trial and error rules so you don’t have to break yours!!

The round sensor simply pushes into this do if it’s still in situ hopefully a reasonably easy fix.

Hi Scouse, that's the earlier version with the bezel. Mine is almost flush fit with no surround trim. If i have time tomorrow, I'll take the wheel arch liner off and take a look inside. Thanks for your reply.

Ok well if it’s without the oval bezel then it will be similar to this below, I just did a Mercedes rear bumper for a friend and the plastic retainers get pushed off the back as they are just held by a heat process from the factory and if separated need glueing back.

I’m 99% sure to access any of the parking sensors, the bumper has to come off, as the bumper crash bar behind inhibits access to them even with the wheel arch splash guard removed.

Bumper removal isn’t too difficult, when I had my L322 I did it a few times and got it down to about 30 mins. Just a case of ensuring all the fixings are undone, most are obvious, the ones to watch for are where the bumper meets the wing each side, there’s a plastic bracket held in with 10mm bolts to remove.

As mentioned above, you will find a heat adhered plastic receiver the actual sensor clicks into, easily replaced if the tabs are broken.

I think you are correct JCW, they are recessed into holes on the crash bar.

Maybe a corner one might not be but think you’re correct.

Hi all, just to confirm, this is now resolved. Thanks for your advice. It was a simple fix, wheel arch liner partly removed and I could just gain access to the park sensor. It had actually broken the moulding away from the bumper cover inside so some eposxy resin and heat gun resolved that. Sensor fitted and working.
