How many miles on the car? Are you saying it’s initiating a regen at 50mile intervals? Is it fully clearing the soot down to <5g after a regen? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

It’s done 74k so not high mileage for its age (2010) , but did around 8000 miles in the 7 months leading up to this problem, and was fault free .

Almost certainly you have an air leak on the intake. The only way to see for sure if it’s not from the usual places is to get a garage to perform a high pressure smoke test. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Had it at a mates Garage and used his smoke machine, it gets to 15psi and left it on for about 15 minutes with no signs of smoke escaping.

Yes, and nothing showed up as leaking .

Just read the first post where you said it was fine until it was serviced. Undo the oil filter and check the drain- off plug at the bottom of the housing has not been dislodged. This is to drain the filter housing when you remove the filter but if it is dislodged oil will continue to drain into the PCV system and intake which can cause the DPF to get clogged quickly. There are some threads on here which go into this in detail. It’s also associated with excessive oil consumption. Fingers crossed it’s just as simple as this. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Thanks for your help Jeygee, I will take a look at that tomorrow and then have a 70mile trip to do in it on Tuesday to see if it’s any different. |

C1 will only reduce the ash buidup over the long term but has no effect on the regen interval itself. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

How many miles between regens did you get before the trouble started?

So to answer Spridget, I don’t know how many miles i was doing between regens before the issue, however from lots of reading on this, I believe it should be at least 300miles and sometimes a lot more if doing longer motorway trips . Mine was down to just 50miles .
