Does it matter what height is selected to remove L405 wheels. Had a search but could not find anything |

My local garage told me to lock it in access height before jacking it up. |

No reason I can see to jack at access height. Let the suspension system do the work for you and jack at off road height. It also means the car is less off level as the jacked corner will be at less of a height difference than the other 3. This can be an issue depending on what jack you are using and the surface it’s on as if the jacking point moves laterally with respect to the ground the jack is on due to the excessive extension it could introduce unstable lateral loads. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Getting a bit lost here. Are you saying that if I jack it at access height, the body lifts to off road height before the wheel starts lifting off the ground |

jack it on the jacking points on the body and that will happen...you will be extending the suspension before the wheel lifts.

Leave a door open to stop it self leveling. You don’t want the self leveling to be active when jacking. The suspension will extend to it’s full length of travel when jacked irrespective of what height it’s set at initially i.e the suspension system can’t lift a wheel / shorten a strut. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

^^^ for me, leaving a door open doesn't seem to work ( door or tailgate ). The blooming thing still tries to level itself out so that by the time I lower it back down, its sitting squatted down.

Interesting on the self-levelling and or change of height thing.
