Can anyone explain the auxiliary radiator workings

I may have a fault - I may not ! - I just don't know what is supposed to happen.

My aux radiator - the one low down, forward of the right wheel well gets warm, all the time.
The vehicle seems to take quite a time to get up to operating temperature but once it does its sits nicely in the middle of the temp gauge. Enine runs fine and it doesn't throw up any OBD errors etc.

So here comes the question..... Does anyone know how the aux radiator is supposed to operate ? - Is it supposed to stay cold until it's needed ? and if so where is the valve/thermostat that controls it ? - is it in the main thermostat body ? And are there any common faults that might cause it to be warm when it's not needed ?

Thanks in advance

If it takes ages to warm up is aux heater working within ambient temp ranges to work and is stat working as it should.

What's ages? Cheers

James
