looking a bit more of this firstly I've read most issues lie with (lack of) lubrication. In my case that may have been the cause of the crack sound but not now.

Frustrating, sorry to hear. Have deployables on mine. Lubricate every few months. Sounds like some of the gears may have snapped on the motor, so at it turns it catches the step.

Small metal wedge shape in the bracket that moves, have a look at the bracket that still works and you may see the part, it is held in place with a small bolt, no part number, but look on line at industrial engineer supply companies they may have some. |

I've got a handful of those motors on the way from China to have a look at and bung on the site, but I probably won't have them for a few weeks yet.

My experience of these steps is that the motors seem quite robust, I think the biggest problem is the brackets/hinges seizing or getting damaged by idiots with trolly jacks. When I wrecked one of mine I found that they were ridiculously expensive (and are now unobtainable) and the motor couldn’t be removed from the bracket without butchering the bracket.

I've already got brackets/hinges, stock is low, but three pallets of L322 and L405 are on the water as we speak.
