It’s looking like that my car cant use the LEDs Ive just bought?? Bulbs stay on for a few minutes start flickering then going out??

So, what’s the best upgrade to the standard bulb??

you said you bought the D1S bulbs chef which are not the correct fitment type..

you need D3S type....

the reason the D1S bulbs are flickering is because they operate at 85v and the D3S use 42v....so if your FF is pushing 42v to the D1S [85v] bulb thats why you're getting the flickering.. ... - .- -.

My thoughts exactly, so Ive sent the new bulbs back to Amazon £88! And now ordered D3S, hopefully get them fitted soon, driving car in the day time only just now!!

So I now have a set of D1S from AliExpress, maybe someone would like them??????

Update:

Had my new D3S leds fitted this morning and all is good! No flickering, shall take the Range Rover to work this evening to see how bright they are!!

Did HID to LED on my L322 earlier in the year. First the main beam (which was Halogen) and then the HID dipped. Light output is significantly higher and the dipped beam focus better with a very distinct cutoff but.......for driving in county areas I think they are too bright as reflections off road signs especialy become very dazzling on main beam and it generaly destroys your night vision. I'd say the ideal illumination level is just enough to see the road so it would be great if they could have variable output or simply have lower brightness versions (which I've not investigated) 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I guess I was lucky in that case.

Fitted the new LEDs carefully in place of the old HIDs, and the beam pattern & alignment were spot on, with nice sharp cut off, and no need to adjust whatsoever, passed MOT shortly after.

I guess there is a lot of variable quality out there, so important to get decent stuff, I was probably very lucky to get a quality item with 3 copper heatsinks from AE in the other thread.

It’s important not to f*ck up the many little finger springs, or fail to set the locking ring correctly. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

You can if you want ... but I'm north Ayrshire, so a bit of a trek for a set of bulbs !

Even if you went to another set of HID Xenon bulbs, you'll likely have to do adjustment as well.

They are easily adjusted though ... you just need an allen key ( 5 or 6mm ? ) which reaches down into the top of the headlight unit from above ( so basically just inside the bonnet when you open it ). The adjusters rotate without too much effort, and adjust the beam angle up and down. V8 or else ...

i'm surprised that any adjustment would be necessary...mine just replaced the xenons without any problems.

i suspect chappy that re-fitted yours chef got pi**ed that he had to do the job again and didnt fit them correctly... ... - .- -.
